Thank you for your letter and all the information. I am and will be a strong advocate for swimming and sports in our schools. I am tired of them being used as emotional blackmail trying to get sports parents to beg for more money so the sport is saved. The pools are very important in our schools and in our county. There are not enough of them as needed now. I do believe that through public-private partnerships that additional revenue can be raised to mitigate the costs of operation. We need more community pools, gyms, and sports fields. I pledge to make sure that FCPS works with your group to find new ways of running our pools. I look forward to your input and thank you for your service to Frederick County's youth!
